Dr. Taylor Ludwick, DVM, MS
Owner
Dr. Taylor Ludwick earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, in 2002. He continued his academic career at UC Davis, where he completed a Master’s in Agricultural Chemistry in 2006 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.
After gaining a year of clinical experience in Petaluma, California, Dr. Ludwick moved to Bishop with his family in 2012. In 2015, he partnered with Dr. Nicole Milici to purchase the clinic from Dr. Tom Talbot.
Dr. Ludwick provides comprehensive care for a diverse range of patients. While he enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, he also maintains a special interest in equine medicine and dentistry, as well as beef cattle production medicine.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ludwick and his lovely wife stay busy supporting their four children in their various sporting endeavors. Their home is a lively extension of his professional life, shared with a menagerie of animals, including chickens, miniature horses, goats, dogs, cats, turtles, a snake, fish, and the occasional FFA project. He feels fortunate to raise his family in the Eastern Sierra and is deeply committed to the community he has called home for over a decade.
Dr. Nicole Milici, DVM
Owner
Dr. Nicole Milici grew up in Bishop, California. She always had an interest in helping animals and wanted to be a Veterinarian since she was 4 years old. Nicole completed a BS in Animal Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 at UC Davis. She spent her first year of veterinary medicine working at Great Basin Equine, an equine specialty hospital located in Gardnerville, NV. Nicole has been an employee of Bishop Veterinary Hospital since she was 12 years old, but took over ownership of the practice with Dr. Ludwick in 2015. She has maintained a special interest in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery as well as Equine Lameness and Reproduction medicine. Outside of Bishop Veterinary Hospital, she enjoys her time away from being a Veterinarian with her husband and two girls, participating in any outdoor activity available. Their house is filled with plenty of the animals she loves: two black labs, chickens, a turtle, a cat, and at least three horses at all times.
Dr. Joanna Kowalska, DVM
Originally from Poland, Dr. Joanna Kowalska grew up snowboarding, horseback riding and wakeboarding. She graduated from veterinary school in Poland in 2009, the same year she won the Polish Kiteboarding Championship. Her international kiteboarding career brought her to the U.S. on an athletic visa, eventually earning her a green card.
After working as a veterinary technician in Charleston, SC, Joanna was accepted into Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 to complete the clinical training required for U.S. licensure. She subsequently moved to San Diego, where she trained in urgent care under specialists in internal medicine and critical care.
Drawn to the mountains, Joanna joined Bishop Veterinary Hospital in 2021. She enjoys the variety of rural veterinary medicine and the opportunity to care for patients across all aspects of veterinary practice.
Joanna lives in Mammoth Lakes with her dog, Helen. Outside of work, she enjoys climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, and snowboarding.
Passionate about her patients and clients, Joanna especially enjoys the detective work of internal medicine and looks forward to caring for you and your loved ones.
Dr. Megan Puget, DVM
Megan grew up in Bakersfield, California, where her passion for animals began as early as 2 years old. She grew up raising animals, showing 4-H, riding horses, and playing soccer competitively. Her family has many special memories in the Eastern Sierras that are near and dear to her heart.
She completed her undergrad at Colorado State University studying Animal Science with a focus on food animal production and continued to embrace her love for adventure and the outdoors. She then moved to the desert and attended Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine in Arizona, focusing on mixed animal medicine to provide care for animals large and small. She took a special interest in helping rural communities in need and particularly enjoyed working with rural cattle and horse populations. Megan also enjoyed providing care for the urban populations of dogs, cats, goats, and even pigs!
Dr. Puget joined the BVH team in the summer of 2025 and is excited to call Bishop her new home. She is thrilled to serve our communities in the hospital and out on the farm! Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her dogs, exploring the outdoors, paddle boarding, horseback riding, caring for her many plants and two aquariums, and spending time with her loved ones.
Dr. Sarah Northrop, DVM
Sarah Northrop is thrilled to have joined the team at Bishop Veterinary Hospital and to become part of the Eastern Sierra community. Originally from Sacramento, CA, she grew up surrounded by animals, which inspired her early dream of becoming a veterinarian. Although she initially pursued kinesiology/pre-physical therapy and psychology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, her passion for working with animals led her back to veterinary medicine. She earned her degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2008, completed a one-year internship in emergency and specialty medicine, and went on to practice for nearly 15 years at a progressive small animal hospital in Orange County. In 2025, she and her husband, Brandin, relocated to Mammoth Lakes with their two daughters to embrace a more outdoor-focused lifestyle.
Dr. Northrop enjoys an active life outside of work, including hiking, running, skiing, paddleboarding, painting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and pets. She has pursued advanced training in veterinary acupuncture, ultrasonography, and laparoscopic surgery, and is a Certified Fear Free Professional. Her professional interests include behavioral health, preventative care, pain management, and internal medicine. She is especially passionate about strengthening the human-animal bond through clear communication and compassionate care, striving to create an environment where pets and their families feel seen, heard, and supported.
