Bishop Veterinary Hospital is expanding our associate veterinarian team!

Welcome to the Eastern Sierras where nature’s beauty surrounds you and the outdoor adventures start at your doorstep! Year round activities abound from skiing and snowboarding to fishing, hunting, kayaking, rock climbing, terrain biking, just to start! It is small town living with wide open spaces and a world away from metropolitan congestion. At Bishop Veterinary Hospital our doctors play a vital role in an expansive and diverse community. As an associate veterinarian you will be able to utilize a full range of professional skills providing womb to tomb care with continuous opportunities to advance your clinical, surgical, and diagnostic skill sets.

Bishop Veterinary Hospital was established in the Sierra Nevadas in the mid 1960s and continues to be proudly privately owned. We are a mixed-animal rural practice operating clinics in 4 communities throughout our region: Mammoth Lakes, CA, Bishop, CA, Ridgecrest, CA and Tonopah, NV. Our patients are 65% small animals, 30% equine and 5% ruminants/exotics with an array of clientele from companion households, equine training stables, livestock ranches, local and state law enforcement agencies, animal shelters, and the local 4H and FFA clubs. We are the only full-time comprehensive veterinary facility in a 200 mile range with the ability to provide urgent care and on-call emergency services 365 days per year. The life of our mountain veterinarians is dynamic and rewarding to those seeking to expand and enhance the versatility of the profession. As one of our doctors you will spend time in the Bishop hospital working side by side with a colleague and a full support team of licensed RVTs, seasoned veterinary assistants and our experienced client service specialists. Additionally you will rotate days in our out clinic locations and provide services out in the field. You will have access to a full suite of diagnostic capabilities including in-house and portable digital radiography, in-house and portable ultrasound, video endoscopy, and complete in-house laboratory systems. Our long-standing relationships with board-certified specialists rotate through our practice regularly to provide referral services from cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, small animal soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and equine surgery.

A candidate with a desire to grow their equine and large animal experience is preferred. An interest in Nevada licensing is also desirable. Our full-time associates are provided with the following benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Full group medical coverage
